In this group jigsaw activity, students learn about the constitutions and human rights legislation in 5 Middle Eastern countries. Students are grouped to analyze national constitutions, then share out their information in new groups for discussion and wrap-up. An optional writing prompt is also included.
All materials are provided and include reading handouts for each country, student information recording handouts, wrap-up questions, and writing prompt. Teacher directions are also provided. NO Key included since answers will vary from group to group and student to student.
*Each reading is the actual text (English translation) from each national constitution, so the reading levels vary and may be challenging for some students. I recommend mixed-ability grouping for this activity to help all students learn effectively.
