Israel and Palestine. Israel-Palestine Conflict. ISIS. Middle East. Taliban. Palestinians.
This is an assessment that I use in my Breakup of the British Empire unit. This could be used in many units to talk about the religious conflicts in the Middle East. Students have a choice to choose between researching the conflict in Israel between Israel and Palestine, or any religious conflict in the Middle East. The students then CHOOSE what type of document to create to present their findings to the teacher/class. Students enjoy having choices, and feel the freedom to choose how to do their project.
Included in this product are student directions and a rubric. Part of the rubric involves SELF-ASSESSMENT. Students can improve the quality of their work when they grade how they would do with a description of why they should get that grade.
The students are graded on 5 criteria on the rubric.
1) Historical Content: Accuracy
2) Historical Thinking Skill: Research - Developing Questions
3) Historical Thinking Skill: Research - Sourcing
5) Overall Product Quality
