This is a powerful and entertaining documentary about the Transatlantic Slave Trade. It is directed by Steven Spielberg and narrated by Debbie Allen. It shows the tragic situation in which millions of Africans were systematically kidnapped and shipped under inhumane conditions to the New World. It also focuses on the Amistad case, which resulted in a Supreme Court battle that pitted former President John Quincy Adams against President Martin Van Buren. An excellent film that keeps students on the edge of their seats.
