Description

This visual journal lesson pack is designed for middle school art and high school art students with at-home and at school instructions. This lesson pack was put together specifically for the flexibility for homeschool, for students who need to work at home or to implement at school.

With the uncertainty of school closures due to coronavirus, snow days, and more, be prepared with a distance learning assignment that can last for a few weeks of a school closure. Distance learning will only become a more viable option as technology continues to grow. Art is no different than other subjects. Although it isn't ideal to not be taught in person, e-learning options are feasible.

Visual journals, or altered books, are a great project for your art class that they can start at home and continue when they return to school. This art assignment is perfect for middle school or high school-age students. The visual journals can serve as a weekly, monthly, or yearlong project.

All in all this listing includes:

➢ The PowerPoint presentation I use every year to introduce visual journals, or art journals, to my students.

➢An editable at home assignment sheet for parents and students

➢Coronavirus reflection sheet to inspire their first creation

➢Prompts

➢At home supply list

➢Lesson plan (includes big idea, objectives, national standards, instructions, supply list, and more)

➢Rubric

Visual journals are always one of my students' favorite projects of the year. It is a space for them to express themselves, experiment with materials, and take a break from regular projects.

This listing has been bundled with ALL my other visual journal resources (including handouts that show students how to complete a variety of techniques, tips on creating a successful visual journal, and posters for your classroom) for over half off of the individual listing price here

Check out the handouts that I use all year long that accompany this lesson here.
