The purpose of this Scale Assessment is to find out how well your students know their scales (major, one octave).
You provide them with the Concert pitch and have them fill out what Major scale their instrument will play then have them spell out the scale and have them include any accidentals that appear in the scale.
Have students spell out the scale and represent the correct fingering that accompanies the note by filling in the correct tone hole or valve just like the fingering chart they have been learning from in your class.
The students will have to specify which accidentals are in the scale.
Once they have identified their accidentals, they must demonstrate their knowledge of the key signature and finally your students will demonstrate their knowledge of musical notation by notating the scale on the staff
