My middle schoolers really got into this assignment.
After learning about the Preamble's meaning I gave each student a section of the Constitution Preamble. Then I divided the Preamble up into four sections.
With clear expectations, as can be seen on the handout and rubric, the students created pictures based upon their assigned section of the Preamble.
Then, students shared their drawings with each other and the class.
This handout includes the following:
+ A short explanation of the Preamble
+ Clear expectations for the drawing
+ A grading rubric.
