Product Description
End of Year Activities: Middle School
Write a letter to an incoming 6th Grader

This resource contains a complete set of student materials and a rubric for a meaningful end of year activity for middle school students: writing a letter of advice to an incoming 6th grader.
Students first brainstorm and think through 18 end of year reflection questions such as:
-What was your favorite part of middle school?
-What should students know about teachers in middle school?
-What was the most important lesson you learned in class in middle school? Why was this lesson important?
Students then take their answers to those questions and compose a multi-paragraph letter of advice to an incoming 6th grader.
This resource also includes a rubric for ease of grading.

This end of year activity for middle school is a ZIP file that includes PDFs of the following:
-Teacher Directions (1 page)
-Student Materials for writing the letter (3 pages)
