Student groups (6-8th grade) work through a guided process to redesign Santa's sleigh. Students viewed a clip from the movie The Santa Clause that showed the interior of Santa's new sleigh upgrades. Students researched a variety of modifications to modes of transportation that exist as well as ways to power them. We learned how to create scientific diagrams and apply all of this information to the Engineering Design Cycle.
The file contains student samples and handouts as well as images for the smartboard/projector to assist teachers in discussing expectations.
