Most "Getting To Know You" activities are geared towards younger students.
But introductions with middle and high school students can be challenging!
Start building rapport and establishing a connections with your older clients from the very first day of online therapy. These slides are perfect for students in older grades who may be hesitant or resistant to therapy.
*About Me; Introduce Yourself by annotating or discussing important details about you as a therapist
*Roll-A-Dice: Getting to Know You is a game you can use to get to know your students' likes/dislikes and everyday life
*Would You Rather? is a great way to open up discussions about topics and informally gauge your student's expressive language skills
*Goal Setting: Discuss your student's goals and motivation for therapy, and talk about ways those goals relate to his/her life
*Housekeeping: Teach the teletherapy tools, talk about scheduling, and discuss troubleshooting on your platform
This presentation was designed for use on a teletherapy platform, but can easily be adapted for table top, face to face therapy use. Simply download and use on your iPad or laptop. DID YOU KNOW that you can use DRY ERASE markers right on your SCREEN? Use markers to annotate when needed.
