PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Five vocabulary-building exercises that correspond with five segments of the 1988 live-action/animated film 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit.' Most appropriate for students from grades 6-12.

Each exercise handout matches a 20-minute segment of the movie and focuses on key vocabulary words from the film. Students first define the vocabulary words using the context of the film and the line of dialogue in which the term appears. Students also identify the part of speech of the term. Then, students are asked to apply the terms to personal or outside contexts unrelated to the film. In my personal experience, these are an easy way to encourage whole-class participation from even the most reluctant students.

This is an inventive way to teach vocabulary and the kids will enjoy it. Useful as warm-ups or whole lessons. Can be combined with other activities for additional vocabulary enrichment. Also builds upon students' visual and listening skills as students must rely upon their visual or aural recall, which is an underserved set of skills in school.

*Purchase of this product assumes buyer has access to film upon which these activities are based.

*Who Framed Roger Rabbit is rated PG for mild profanity, cartoon violence, and cartoon sensuality.
