Here are 7 pages of mistakes that actual students have made in solving math problems. After going into many math classrooms and seeing the same mistakes pop up, I created these Misconceptions documents for the teachers to use so that students can analyze the errors. Students identify mistakes and correctly complete the problems.
Some topics include: solving two step equations, renaming fractions as decimals and percents to decimals, operations with integers, fractions and decimals, exponents, ratios, Pythagorean Theorem, proportions and scale,percents of numbers, percent change, and writing inequalities.
