If you teach middle school Social Studies then you know that you NEED to have a supply of resources to get your students engaged and excited about the content. When I first started teaching, I was given an old text book, a pat on the back, and 150 middle schoolers to see on a daily basis. I literally had nothing in my "Teacher Toolbox." My evenings, weekends, and days during vacations were spent at school just trying to keep up. Heading into my 20th year this year - I've accumulated a lot, and I'd like to share some of them with you - especially if you're just starting out. I’ve put together a HUGE bundle of resources for you that I've used in my own classroom, and still do, to make Social Studies more enjoyable for my students. Hopefully they’ll do the same for your students!

Even if you don't use everything, at least you'll always know that you have something you can use to supplement your curriculum. You could sift through these resources and pull some out that you would specifically set aside if you all of a sudden need a sub. Have them printed and ready to go just in case.
Have a great year, and enjoy your evenings, weekends, and vacations!
