In this packet students read two separate passages involving the history of Fort Davis:
The first passage is about the Buffalo Soldiers -- African American troops who fought for the US Army in the Indian Wars. They were stationed at Fort Davis throughout the late 1800s.
The second passage describes life at Fort Davis before, during and after the Buffalo Soldiers were stationed there. In particular the passage relates the various ways soldiers entertained themselves at Fort Davis.
Each passage is followed by a variety of multiple choice questions and at least one open ended question. There are a total of 17 multiple choice questions and seven open ended questions
This product also includes a complete answer key including responses to the open-ended questions.
