This is a hands-on unit that is designed to expose students to the basics of magnetism over a two week time period. This unit covers what a magnet is, the properties of magnets and how they can be used in daily life. The activities and experiments included in this unit are designed for the students to complete individually and cooperatively with in small groups with the guidance of a teacher. Students will develop many other skills unrelated to magnetism while completing this unit. This unit requires that students predict, gather results, and use those results to draw conclusions. After completing this unit students should have a deeper understanding of magnets and their properties.
Student Printables, Anchor Charts, and 10 minilessons are all included.
