Milkweed Posters includes pictures of a milkweed flower in the summer, milkweed leaves being eaten by Milkweed Tussock Moth Caterpillars, the milkweed pods ready to ripen, and pods opening on a windy day in Autumn. They are appropriate on the wall or in a science center of any classroom or home where butterflies, bees, signs of fall, wildflowers, and milkweed are studied or enjoyed.
There has been concern recently that some chemicals we use in our gardens are killing the milkweed plants, and therefore, destroying the food of the Monarch butterflies. Study of the Milkweed plant and Monarch butterflies is important for understanding our environment.
I have photographed these images myself and made these posters. They are for educational use in a classroom, home, nature center or library. They are not to be resold.
The SEM image of the Milkweed seed is included courtesy of Suzanne Eder.
