Because Science Should be a Part of Every Student's Life....

Here are two great activities to help students understand the concept of people mimicking plants and animals to meet their needs.

Activity 1: Show students one visual aid card then read statement on card. Students can discuss answers to the question and then answer the question by drawing an object in the box below the picture for that card. Repeat until all six visual aid cards have be discussed and drawn. Possible answers include: straw for elephant, house for bee hive, coat for bear, ladder for giraffe, fence for cactus, and helmet for turtle.

Activity 2: After completing activity 1, students should be able to come up with an example of their own. Possible answers include: Camel holding water- bucket for water, bird flying - person using glider to fly, acorn shell- person wearing helmet.
