I recommend you print them out and laminate to have a teaching tool you can use throughout the year. Each sheet illustrates how to do a mindful technique in an engaging and kid-friendly way. There is one technique per sheet: body awareness, deep breathing, balancing, grounding and affirmations. Each sheet has teaching instructions and prompts on the back to help you know what to do. I created these cards because I love mindfulness and wanted a teaching tool I could use in the classroom. The mindful action cards are a result of my graduate thesis, which explored how mindfulness impacts social emotional skills in children. I found that consistently using these mindful techniques for 5-7 minutes per day increased my students ability to stay in their seat, stay on task, keep hands to self and show better impulse control!
