Mindful Morning Meetings are an intentional way to start the day in a calm and supportive manner. Each week focuses on a specific social emotional learning goal, helping children identify their emotions, practice conflict resolution skills, learn self-regulation strategies, and more. This Mindful Morning Meeting curriculum has been used very successfully in K-5 classes for 2 years.
The Mindful Morning Meeting units contain 4 days, 8 weeks of scripted daily 10-15 minute lessons. Each weekly lesson builds upon the previous week and includes a vocabulary word wall. No teacher preparation is needed.
The Mindful Morning Meeting: Emotions unit is the first unit in the Mindful Morning Meeting curriculum. It sets up the Mindful Morning Meeting routine and community. The Emotions unit helps children recognize and develop a vocabulary for their feelings. It offers strategies for children to manage strong emotions and helps them in self-regulation.
