Use mindfulness brain breaks to help kids and young adults improve attention, emotional control, and self-regulation skills in the classroom or for distance learning. Mindful brain breaks can help kids regain focus, inner calm, happiness, and promote a positive classroom climate.

A total of 45 unique mindful brain breaks with a nature theme are included. Practice one a day and switch them up so your students will never get bored! Note that print AND digital versions are included. This allows you to access on Google Slides or print them for posters if needed.

Mindfulness means being present in the moment with your thoughts and feelings without making judgments. It is being aware of what is happening but not being overwhelmed. The mindfulness techniques in these activities include visualization, deep breathing, walking meditation, using senses, and more.

Digital Version

A digital version for Google Slides is included. To access, just open the PDF with "digital directions" in the title and click the link in the box. This makes it easy for educators to practice mindful brain breaks on the project in class or virtually for distance learning.

Why Teach Mindfulness

Research has shown many positive outcomes when you practice mindfulness. People of all ages and abilities can practice. It is a great strategy for kids struggling with challenging emotions or behavioral needs. Mindfulness brain breaks can also be helpful to calm a class after lunch or recess or refocus kids before a big test.

How to Use

Here are just some examples of when you could use these:

• After lunch or recess to help bring the class back together

• Before high-stakes testing to help focus and calm the mind

• In small groups to promote relaxation

• In between class transitions to provide a mental break
