Description
Use these mindful scavenger hunts to help kids and young adults practice mindfulness in a fun and interactive way. Students will use their senses to find a variety of items outside or in the classroom while practicing mindfulness. These are an interactive and meaningful way to integrate social-emotional learning!
Indoor and Outdoor Activities Included!
This resource includes a student worksheet that introduces mindfulness and explains the benefits. Then, students will go on a mindful scavenger hunt to practice! A total of 12 different scavenger hunts are included (6 for outside in nature and 6 for the classroom). There is also a page to make your own scavenger hunts.

How It Works
Students will first learn about mindfulness in a mini-lesson. They will then use any of the scavenger hunts included to practice their mindful skills.
Some examples of outdoor items students will look for include:
- Something bright
- Something in the shape of a circle
- A bird
- A leaf
- Animal tracks
- And many more!
Some examples of indoor items students will look for include:
- Something shaped like a triangle
- A binder
- Something round
- A light
- Something you can hear
- And many more!

What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness means being present in the moment with your thoughts and feelings without making judgments. It is being aware of what is happening but not being overwhelmed.
Why Teach Mindfulness
Research has shown many positive outcomes when you practice mindfulness. People of all ages and abilities can practice. It is a great strategy to teach self-regulation, improve focus, and feel happier overall.
