*Portions of this build are not recommended for teachers that have never seen or played Minecraft. Most can easily be completed by the students without teacher help, but some parts require teacher input and instructions.
Completed in its entirety, and using the recommended times, this Minecraft build will take between 10 and 14 class days to complete (assuming 50 minute time increments). However, each "build" contained within this project can be used as a stand-alone build. This amounts to between 5 and 6 single Minecraft projects.
Please see my free Coordinate Plane build to get a better idea of the format for each of my Minecraft lessons ( http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Minecraft-Coordinate-Plane-Lesson-Plan-and-Instructions-965835 ).
This Minecraft build is one of my student's favorites! It allows for a large amount of creativity and students will typically not realize how much math they are learning. The PDF you receive will have both a teacher handout and a student handout.
The teacher handout contains screenshots, guided questions to ask students while they work, detailed instructions for what the students will be working on, extension activities, and a section to explain some common problems I see when using this lesson.
The student handout contains detailed instructions for the students. If used as supplemental material AFTER you have already covered the topics in class, most students familiar with Minecraft will be able to complete all the builds without teacher help. If, however, the teacher has never reviewed the standards addressed in this build, or students are unfamiliar with Minecraft, the teacher will need to help during much of the project. For this reason, please do not purchase this if you have little or no experience in Minecraft!
The standards listed are all addressed in the build.
