This is a collection of challenges created for introductory lessons for students to become familiar with Microsoft's Minecraft: Education Edition. I use this in my elementary Library/Technology classes and sometimes for reporting purposes within the Ontario Media Literacy curriculum. There is a generic self-assessment and reflection students can complete after completing however many BINGO challenges the teacher specifies. More subject-specific challenge sheets will be added later, stay tuned!
This resource has been organized as a BINGO card, allowing student choice for what they'd like to try and when. Challenges include the very simple to the much more time-consuming and explore skills such as basic game-play, world exploration, STEM-focused tasks, and literacy. Students are required to keep a photo record and journal entries for some challenges. Please note that some of these challenges are specific to Education Edition so if your students do not have access to this version of Minecraft, those items will need to be revised.
Teachers may wish to print and photocopy the two sheets double sided and have students document their progress using an online word processor, such as OneNote.
