Problem solving situations involving finding all possible combinations are often tricky for kids. (Example: How many kinds of sandwiches can Juan make if he chooses 1 kind of meat and 1 kind of cheese?) This activity gives students practice with these problems while relating it to something that nearly every child is familiar with - Minecraft! This file includes 3 problems, one where they have to find all the possible house combinations, one that's about armor combinations, and one that is about building a park out of all the possibilities. To get kids started with the first problem (Minecraft Choices: House Combinations), I made an Educreations video lesson to help. Feel free to use it with your students if you would like!
