Minecraft is a computer game that runs on Java and is played by millions of children and adults around the world. The basics of the game involves either single or multi players that are assigned to an avatar and then thrown into a lego style world where they must learn to survive. While Minecraft is a great game and would probably help my students increase their problem solving skills all by itself, as I continued researching I hit the jackpot, MinecraftEdu. This game was developed with the same principles as Minecraft, but is strictly for student use within a school setting. MinecraftEdu also contains many different template worlds which are based on curriculum goals and standards. So I decided to upload and focus my energy on one template in MinecraftEdu: “Escape from Everest.”
This packet of seven lesson plans are all focus around the "Escape for Everest" template. Along with the seven lesson plans you will also receive a table of contents, goal statement, Minecraft setup instructions, seven pre- and post tests and additional resources.
Please not that MinecraftEdu does cost money and is not included in this download. *MinecraftEdu template are free!
