Provide your students with their own personal Mini Battle of the Books Goal Charts so they can track their own progress throughout the year! They'll be eager to chart their progress when they can personally interact and color in the boxes and record their own AR scores. Students will be excited to share their chart at parent conferences, too!
I've used the individual student Mini Battle of the Books Chart in my classroom for the past three years. My students are much more aware of their own personal progress towards reading all the books on the list than they have been in past years. They work so much harder to meet the goal because they're interacting with the chart and see their progress. It's been rewarding to see their excitement when they've read all the books on the list and have achieved their goal.
