This is a two-week literature guide for the book Forty Acres and Maybe a Mule, by Harriette Gillem Robinet. In this book, Pascal and his older brother Gideon attempt to claim the 40 acres (and a mule) that has the government has promised to former slaves.
The mini-guide contains vocabulary exercises, discussion questions, reading activities, life application/Bible connections, and a complete answer key.
This is an interactive guide that enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of the book, but it only provides space for one student to complete fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using this guide with more than one student, check out the options:
1) Reproducibles (that contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities):
Mini-Guide for Juniors: Forty Acres and Maybe a Mule Reproducibles
2) Workbook format:
Mini-Guide for Juniors: Forty Acres and Maybe a Mule Workbook
The content of the interactive guide and the workbook guide are the same; the only difference is spacing.
You don’t need the reproducibles if you purchase the guide in workbook format.
Mini-guides are designed for homeschoolers, but can be used in schools and co-ops. For more information about Mini-Guides, check the mini-guide page of the CNS website:
