This guide was updated and expanded in September of 2016.
This is a mini-guide (a two-week study) for the book titled The Door in the Wall, by Marguerite de Angeli. In this book set in the Middle Ages, Robin discovers that -- despite handicaps -- he is able to serve his country.
The mini-guide contains ten sections that include vocabulary exercises, discussion questions, reading activities, life application/Bible connections, and an answer key.
This is an interactive guide that enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of the book, but it only provides space for one student to complete fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using the guide with more than one student, check out the following options:
1. Reproducibles: Mini-Guide for Juniors: The Door in the Wall Reproducibles
1) When you purchase one set of reproducibles, you have permission to make a copy for each of your students.
2) The reproducibles are intended to be used with the mini-guide, so an Answer Key is not provided; the answers for the activities on the reproducibles are found at the end of the mini-guide.
2. The guide is also available in workbook format (you do not need reproducibles if you purchase the guide in workbook format):
Mini-Guide for Juniors: The Door in the Wall Workbook
NOTE: The content of the interactive guide and the guide in workbook format is the same; the only difference is spacing.
Mini-guides were originally designed for homeschoolers; they are also used in schools and co-ops. For more information about Mini-Guides, check the mini-guide page of the CNS website:
