This guide was updated and expanded in August of 2017.
This is a mini-guide (a two-week literature study) for the book titled The Secret at Pheasant Cottage, revised by Mary Mills (the original book was written by Patricia St. John). In this book, Lucy begins to wonder why she was raised by her grandparents when other children have parents.
The mini-guide contains vocabulary exercises, discussion questions, reading activities, life application/Bible connections, and an answer key.
This is an interactive guide that enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of the book, but it only provides space for one student to complete fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in obtaining reproducibles that contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities, check out the following page on TpT:
Mini-Guide for Juniors: The Secret at Pheasant Cottage Reproducibles
1) When you purchase one set of reproducibles, you have permission to make a copy for each of your students.
2) An Answer Key is not provided for the reproducibles; the answers for the activities on the reproducibles are found at the end of the mini-guide.
A free (short) biography and information about Patricia St. John's writing is available on TpT:
An Introduction to Patricia St. John and Her Stories
CNS is working on creating workbooks for some of these interactive guides; the content is the same -- the only difference is that the workbooks contain spaces to write all of the answers. If you are interested in submitting a request to have CNS create a workbook for this guide, contact Chris Roe at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Mini-guides were originally designed for homeschoolers; they are also used in schools and co-ops. For more information about Mini-Guides, check the mini-guide page of the CNS website:
