This guide was updated and expanded in September of 2016.
This is a two-week literature study for the book titled Johnny Tremain, by Esther Forbes. In this book, a young apprentice silversmith is caught up in the danger and excitement of Boston in the 1770s.
A mini-guide contains 10 sections that feature vocabulary exercises, discussion questions, literature analyses, life application/Bible connections, and an answer key.
This is an interactive guide that enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of the book, but it only provides space for one student to complete the fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using the guide with more than one student, check out the options:
1) reproducibles -- they contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities:
Mini-Guide for Middlers: Johnny Tremain Reproducibles
a) When you purchase one set of reproducibles, you have permission to make a copy for each of your students.
b) An Answer Key is not provided for the reproducibles; the answers for the activities on the reproducibles are found at the end of the mini-guide.
2) workbook format -- there is room for students to write answers to the questions and to complete the activities:
Mini-Guide for Middlers: Johnny Tremain Workbook
You do not need to purchase the reproducibles if you purchase the guide in workbook format.
The content of the guide in workbook format and the interactive format is the same.
Mini-guides are designed for homeschoolers, but can be used in schools and co-ops. For more information about Mini-Guides, check the mini-guide page of the CNS website:
