This is a mini-guide (a two-week literature study) for the book titled Journey to America, by Sonia Levitin. In this book, Lisa Platt and her family flee from Germany in 1938.
The mini-guide contains vocabulary exercises, discussion questions, reading activities, life application/Bible connections, and a complete answer key.
This is an interactive guide that enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of the book, but it only provides space for one student to complete fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using this guide with more than one student, check out the options:
1) Reproducibles (that contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities):
Mini-Guide for Middlers: Journey to America Reproducibles
2) Workbook format (the content of the interactive guide and the workbook guide are the same; you don’t need the reproducibles if you purchase the guide in workbook format): Mini-Guide for Middlers: Journey to America Workbook
Note: There are two sequels to Journey to America. This mini-guide contains a page of discussion questions, links, and activities for the sequels. An answer key for these questions is not provided.
Mini-guides are designed for homeschoolers, but can be used in schools and co-ops. For more information about Mini-Guides, check the mini-guide page of the CNS website:
