This is a mini-guide (a two-week literature study) for the book titled Moccasin Trail, by Eloise Jarvis McGraw. In this book, Jim works to adjust to family life after living with Indians. The story is set in 1844 in Oregon Territory. Eloise Jarvis McGraw was awarded a Newbery Honor Medal for the writing in this book.
The mini-guide contains vocabulary exercises, discussion questions, reading activities, life application/Bible connections, and an answer key. Part of Psalm 23 is found several times in this story, so one activity is to memorize and write this Psalm.
This is an interactive guide that enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of the book, but it only provides space for one student to complete the fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using the guide with more than one student, check out your options:
1. Reproducibles (contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities):
a) When you purchase one set of reproducibles, you have permission to make a copy for each of your students.
b) An Answer Key is not provided for the reproducibles; the answers for the activities on the reproducibles are found at the end of the mini-guide.
2) Workbook (there is space for students to write answers):
NOTE: The content of the guide in interactive format and in workbook format is the same; the only difference is spacing.
Mini-guides are used in home schools, co-ops, and traditional schools. Click on the link to browse through all of the Mini-Guides for Middlers.
