This guide was updated and expanded in December of 2016.
This is a mini-guide (a two-week literature study) for the book titled Rascal, by Sterling North. In this book, Sterling raises a baby raccoon during World War I.
The mini-guide contains vocabulary exercises, discussion questions, reading activities, life application/Bible connections, and a complete answer key.
This is an interactive guide that enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of the book, but it only provides space for one student to complete the fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using the guide with more than one student, check out the options:
1) Reproducible sheets -- they contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities: Mini-Guide for Middlers: Rascal Reproducibles
a. When you purchase one set of reproducibles, you have permission to make a copy for each of your students.
b. An Answer Key is not provided for the reproducibles; the answers for the activities on the reproducibles are found at the end of the mini-guide.
2) This guide is available in workbook format:
Mini-Guide for Middlers: Rascal Workbook
If you purchase the guide in workbook format, you do not need the reproducibles. The content of the guide in interactive format and the workbook format is the same.
The mini-guide was designed for homeschoolers but can be used in co-ops and schools. For more information about Mini-Guides, check the mini-guide page of the CNS website:
