This guide was updated and expanded in February of 2018.
This is a mini-guide (a two-week literature study) for the book titled Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, by Mildred D. Taylor. This is the story of the Logan family; they are fighting to stay together and strong in the face of prejudice in the South during the 1930s.
The mini-guide contains vocabulary exercises, discussion questions, reading activities, life application/Bible connections, and an answer key.
This is an interactive guide that enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of the book, but it only provides space for one student to complete the fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using the guide with more than one student, check out the following options:
1) Reproducibles (they contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities):
Mini-Guide for Middlers: Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry Reproducibles
When you purchase one set of reproducibles, you have permission to make a copy for each of your students. An Answer Key is not provided for the reproducibles; the answers for the activities on the reproducibles are found at the end of the mini-guide.
2) Workbook format:
Mini-Guide for Middlers: Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry Workbook
If you purchase the guide in workbook format (same content as the interactive guide; the only difference is the spacing) you do not need the reproducibles; all of the fill-in-the blank activities are in the workbook.
Mini-guides are used in home schools, co-ops, and traditional schools.
