This guide was updated and expanded in January of 2017.
This is a mini-guide (a two-week literature study) for the book titled The Winged Watchman, by Hilda van Stockum. In this book, a Dutch family helps the Resistance during World War II.
The mini-guide contains vocabulary exercises, discussion questions, reading activities, life application/Bible connections, and a complete answer key.
This is an interactive guide that enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of the book, but it only provides space for one student to complete the fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using the guide with more than one student, check out the options:
1. Reproducibles -- they contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities:
Mini-Guide for Middlers: The Winged Watchman Reproducibles
1) When you purchase one set of reproducibles, you have permission to make a copy for each of your students.
2) An Answer Key is not provided for the reproducibles; the answers for the activities on the sheets are found at the end of the mini-guide.
2. The guide is also available in workbook format (you do not need the reproducibles if you purchase the guide in workbook format):
Mini-Guide for Middlers: The Winged Watchman Workbook
(The content of the interactive guide and the workbook guide are the same.)
Mini-guides were designed for homeschoolers and are used in co-ops and schools. For more information about Mini-Guides, check the mini-guide page of the CNS website:
