This is a two-week literature study for the book titled Where the Red Ferns Grows, by Wilson Rawls. In this book, 10-year-old Billy Colman longs for hunting dogs, but his parents can't afford to get them for him.
A mini-guide contains 10 sections that feature vocabulary exercises, discussion questions, literature analyses, life application/Bible connections, and an answer key.
This interactive guide enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of this book, but it only provides space for one student to complete fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using the guide with more than one student, check out the following options:
1) Reproducibles are available from TeachersPayTeachers:
Mini-Guide for Middlers: Where the Red Fern Grows Reproducibles
The reproducibles contain all of the fill-in-the blank activities found in the mini-guide; they enable parents/teachers to use this guide with multiple students. When you purchase one set of reproducibles, you have permission to make a copy for each of your students.
2) The guide is available in workbook format. There is room for students to write answers to the questions and to complete the activities in this version of the guide:
Mini-Guide for Middlers: Where the Red Fern Grows Workbook
If you purchase the workbook, you do not need the reproducibles because all of the fill-in-the-blank activities are included in the workbook.
NOTE: The content of the guide in interactive format and in workbook format are the same; the only difference is spacing.
