This is a powerpoint in three sections. Three mini-lessons in total. Each mini-lesson runs about 15 minutes, and it focuses on the elements of figurative language, poetry and drama. I used these in my classroom a few weeks before the state ELA test to help my students review. Through this powerpoint, students will learn about figurative language: similes, metaphors, hyperbole and personification, drama: dialogue and state directions, and poetry: rhyme, repetition and alliteration. Students will learn the definition of each element and be able to practice identifying those during a guided practice section. ALSO, look on my site for independent practice worksheets to go along with these mini-lessons.
