Product Description
Let the MATHness begin!!! This resource enables students to participate in a variety of fun, engaging activities, sure to bring the excitement of March Madness to your classroom!

This resource consists of three different segments, appropriate for students in grades 2-4.

(Note: This product is a smaller version of my extended product called, "March MATHness-Level I: Utilizing March Madness to Engage Math Skills." In that product, there are one more mini-game, 10 different statistical categories, and two additional Read Around the Room activities the students can engage in:

First, there are two mini-games in which students compete against each other to see who can predict the best teams in the bracket. Here is a quick overview of each game:

#1) "Pick Six Mini Game"--In this game, students choose six teams to represent them throughout the tournament. When one of their teams wins, they accumulate points based on seed value. It is another great alternative to filling out the entire 64-team bracket!

#2) "Sweet 16 Trifecta Mini Game"--This game is similar to Pick Six. Students choose three teams once the field is reduced to 16 teams after the first weekend of the tournament. Very fun game to keep students (and adults) engaged in the tournament!

In "March MATHness," students examine five different statistical categories from the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament to practice and reinforce a variety of math skills. Students answer three questions for each category.

Finally, in "Read Around the Room-March MATHness," students use the statistic clue cards to help them answer a variety of questions. This component ties reading, writing, and math skills together!

Each year I will update this product when the new March Madness bracket is released, meaning you get a brand new resource every year!

I am positive this resource will be a SLAM DUNK with your students!!!!
