About the Resource:
- This unit will have students think critically about the power of collective and individual voices, examine why people engage in activism, and identify examples of it. Students will think about a topic, matter, or issue that is of importance to them and create a project around it. In the project, students will work in pairs to develop a proposal for a product like an event, website, social media platform, or school club with a purpose and goal.
- This unit includes:
- independent work, partner work, and small group work
- opportunities to journal, share opinions, practice media literacy skills, and group/collaboration skills
- draws on student voice, student creativity, student self-reflection, and so-on
