Do you have some old DVD cases laying around your house? To create my DVD mini-white boards, I moved all of my DVDs into a flip-through book with DVD sleeves (which I love so much more anyway!) This provided me with a class set of DVD cases to use as “Mini White Boards”. Inside each case, I store a thin dry erase marker and a small piece of felt for erasing. The inserts are interchangeable- and can be used to teach, reinforce or assess students’ knowledge of a variety of skills. Inserts can even be stored inside the DVD cases.
If you do not have DVD cases of your own to recycle, chances are parents of students in your class do, and would be more than happy to donate to this project. Included is a form letter to send home asking for donations of DVD cases.
I LOVE to use these Mini-White boards for a variety of things in my class. I use them in large group lessons, in small group settings, and also during independent work time. My kids LOVE to use them too. We use them daily!
Included in this set is 8 ELA Inserts, and 15 Math Inserts.
