This guide was updated and expanded in November of 2016.
This is a two-week study for the book titled The Birds' Christmas Carol, by Kate Douglas Wiggin. The book is the beloved Christmas classic about a Christmas baby who is named Carol because she had a share in the "blessedest birthday the world has ever known."
The mini-guide contains ten sections that include vocabulary exercises, discussion questions, reading activities, life application/Bible connections, and an Answer Key.
This interactive guide enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of the book, but it only provides space for one student to complete fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using the guide with more than one student, check out the following options:
1) Reproducibles are available; they contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities (when you purchase one set, you have permission to make a copy for each of your students):
Mini-Guide for Juniors: The Birds' Christmas Carol Reproducibles
2) The guide is also available in a workbook format; in this format there is space for students to write answers:
Mini-Guide for Juniors: The Birds' Christmas Carol Workbook
(reproducible sheets are not necessary if you purchase the guide in workbook format; the workbooks contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities)
NOTE: The content in the interactive guide and the workbook guide are the same.
Mini-guides were originally designed for homeschoolers; they are also used in schools and co-ops. For more information about Mini-Guides, check the mini-guide page of the CNS website:
