Description
If your students think that minimal pairs therapy is BORING... well they haven't gotten interactive with it yet!!! Minimal pairs is an evidence-based therapy approach that has had an engaging and interactive makeover.
This NO PREP minimal pair activities for the phonological patterns of FRONTING, FINAL CONSONANT DELETION, VOICING, GLIDING, S CLUSTER REDUCTION, and STOPPING.
This digital Boom Cards™ set helps students to make sense of minimal pairs therapy by providing the targets in meaningful, interactive activities.
AIM: To enhance the pragmatic and meaning-based contrast behind minimal pairs therapy in an engaging way.
METHOD: Point to (auditory discrimination) or say the minimal pair target words. If you say the word correctly, drag the mini picture to the correct place on the screen. There are 5 mini pictures for 5 practice attempts per word. Entertaining for the preschool-aged population who are confused by the contrast approach.
How can I reach 100 trials?
Use the following equation to figure out how many practice trials are needed:
1. Say 4 word pairs x25 each = 100 trials
2. Say 5 word pairs x20 each = 100 trials
3. Say 6 word pairs x 15 each = 90 trials
4. Say 8 word pairs x 15 each = 120 trials
5. Say 10 word pairs x 10 each = 100 trials
6. You might include this resource as one part of your session to reach 100 trials
