This is a simple interactive book targeting word-initial t/k contrasts. This can be used for the phonological processes of either backing or fronting. Included in this interactive book are 8 minimal pairs including top/cop, tan/can, tape/cape etc.
With the help of the SLP, students answer wh-questions to determine which stimulus word is correct (bonus: two goals in one book!). This interactive book can be easily adapted to accommodate both the auditory discrimination and sound production levels. Students can then place the correct answer in the appropriate box. Stimulus cards are conveniently stored on the same page as the questions to avoid flipping pages back and forth and to make “clean up” after reading quick and easy!
-Print one copy of each book page and one copy of the stimulus
pictures (pages 2-7)
- Laminate book pages and picture sheet (if desired), then cut out
pages and stimulus pictures on black lines.
-Hole punch and secure with book rings.
-Place one side of Velcro® on all squares in book pages and the
opposite side on the stimulus pictures
-Use Tack-It Over and Over® on the backs of the stimulus
pictures to keep the book less bulky and easier to handle** This is my preferred method and is what you see used in the sample pictures**
