Description

If there's one thing students love... it's a good debate!

Right now, throughout the United States people are debating raising the minimum wage to $15/hour.

In this lesson students will first consider the cost of living in their area to determine if someone could live off of the current federal minimum wage of $7.25/hour.

Students love to ARGUE but this lesson focuses on considering all sides of the issue before forming an informed opinion. Student will analyze arguments and brainstorm counter arguments for both sides of the issue.

At the conclusion of the lesson, students will write a letter to their representative explaining their position on the issue.

Fun. Engaging. Relevant. Your students won't even realize they're learning critical thinking skills as they learn to argue and reason like a lawyer!

More than Minimum includes:

- Teacher's Guide

- Student work pages (available as World Documents or editable PDFs)
