1. Informational Text: About the same time that people settled in the Nile River Valley, settlements developed on islands in the Aegean Sea. The Minoans lived on Greek islands and built a huge palace on the island of Crete, known as the Palace of Knossos. This civilization is named after King Minos. The king lived in this palace. His palace was amazing. It supposedly had 1500 rooms. But even the poor people on the island of Crete had beautiful homes, decorated with drawings of the sea.
