This presentation covers third party politics in U.S. Government. Topics discussed include different types of minor parties and obstacles that minor party candidates face because of rules in the U.S. political system. The presentation concludes with a discussion of what positives come from minor parties despite their lack of success in winning elections. There have been several Advanced Placement test questions on this topic (including free response questions). This presentation is perfect for A.P. U.S. Government and Politics students, but simple enough for any level of civics or government class to handle.
