This activity is an extension of my other mirror activities,
but with a fun summer “shades” theme! This one focuses on auditory memory and organization skills. Each pair of “shades” has 4 words that have to be rearranged to make a grammatically correct sentence. The SLP reads words aloud and the student should repeat the words and rearrange them to make a sentence.
To Play: Put your “shades” on, but make sure you’re standing in front of a mirror! Read the words aloud and have a friend unscramble them to make a sentence that makes sense!
pg. 3: example
pg. 4-11: “shades” (48)
pg. 12: open ended game board – grab a bingo dotter and dot your way from the sunscreen to the sunglasses
Additional Way To Use:
-have your articulation students unscramble and say the sentence using good articulation
-have your fluency students unscramble and say the sentence using a fluency strategy
-have students practice writing skills by writing the sentence and figuring out ways to expand and add detail to the sentence (ex. Jack went to bed --> Yesterday, Jack went to bed early because he was tired)
