So she called for the doctor to come quick, quick, quick.
The doctor came with his bag and his hat.
And he knocked on the door with a tap, tap, tap.
He looked at the dolly and he shook his head.
He said, “Miss Polly put her straight to bed”.
He wrote on some paper for some pills, pills, pills.
I’ll be back in the morning with my bill, bill, bill.
This Animated Step-by-Step song/poem is a great addition to your community helpers curriculum unit. I typically conduct this activity first as a poem (allowing you to put greater emphasis on the literacy component) and later as a song using the ‘static versions’ of the poem/song that are available at the end of the resource. The latter are accompanied by a ‘singing track’ sung in a child’s voice so don’t worry if you are unfamiliar with the tune.
