Animated Step-by-Steps are animated PowerPoints designed to address literacy, language, AAC and a host of academic goals. Each page includes a series of animations. Read the text up to the star … click … and see an animation of what you just read.
There are 3 versions of this resource. This is the Regular version (non symbol-supported).
Miss Polly had a dolly that was sick, sick, sick.
So she called for the doctor to come quick, quick, quick.
The doctor came with his bag and his hat.
And he knocked on the door with a tap, tap, tap.
He looked at the dolly and he shook his head.
He said, “Miss Polly put her straight to bed”.
He wrote on some paper for some pills, pills, pills.
I’ll be back in the morning with my bill, bill, bill.
This Animated Step-by-Step song/poem is a great addition to your community helpers curriculum unit. I typically conduct this activity first as a poem (allowing you to put greater emphasis on the literacy component) and later as a song using the ‘static versions’ of the poem/song that are available at the end of the resource. The latter are accompanied by a ‘singing track’ sung in a child’s voice so don’t worry if you are unfamiliar with the tune.
Animated Step-by-Steps™ are designed to address literacy, language and AAC. This flexible resource can be used on an interactive whiteboard or can be displayed on an iPad using the free Microsoft PowerPoint app. Stars throughout the resource signal the presence of animations that support a greater understanding of the text. Animations can be accessed either directly or via a remote switch when using the interactive whiteboard. A finger swipe to the left or a bluetooth switch can be used for triggering animations on the iPad. For further information on using remote access http://bit.ly/1PqxxIk and setting up the Microsoft PowerPoint app http://bit.ly/1KFjkpL please visit the Animated Step-by-Steps™ blog.
