This missing addend scoot promotes fact fluency and understanding of the relation between addition and subtraction.
To play the scoot, students all begin with a card. They solve the equation on their card and record their answer in the corresponding box of their recording sheet. Then they "scoot" on to the next card. This scoot is versatile and can be used in whole group, small group, or can be placed in a math center.
My students and I LOVE scoots because they combine movement (FUN!) and skills practice (LEARNING!). Anything that gets my kids moving and working hard at the same time is a winner in my book.
