This game is easy to play and easy to differentiate.
You decide the number of manipulatives your students need to use.. In this case I used shark teeth (I bought mine on Amazon). No Shark Teeth? Use small shells, goldfish, connecting cubes, counters, the possibilities are endless.
First count how many you have. Then everyone hides their eyes and you hide some (in a treasure chest, a sand pail, under a shell or cup). When everyone opens their eyes you count how many you see. Now figure out how many are hiding in the treasure chest. Use your math talk to explain the process and your thinking.
If your students are ready for pencil and paper the recording pages are for you. I have included several options.
